Welcome to all competitors from the FCI community! Participants from all FCI member countries are invited to take part in the ISPU World Championships and celebrate our shared passion for our Pinschers and Schnauzers.
Please note:
The prestigious title of ISPU World Champion is reserved for competitors representing clubs and countries that are ISPU members. Participants from countries and clubs without ISPU Membership can be awarded with the Winner of the Day but not with the ISPU World Champion Title.

Welcome to Switzerland!
The ISPU World Championship in 2026 will be held in Switzerland, Aarau, from 21th of October to 25th! This year the very first IBGH ISPU-WM for International Companion Dog Exam will held. Furthermore, the 34. ISPU-WN IGP-3 and the 9. ISPU WM IGP-FH will take place.
Aarau is a medium-sized town and municipality in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It is the capital of this canton and also of the district of Aarau. The town lies 39 km southeast of Basel, 38 km west of Zurich, 67 km northeast of Bern (all distances as the crow flies) and is part of northwestern Switzerland. The competition is being held in the Athletics Stadium Schachen with the estimated capacity 750 seats and 1500 standing places.
The World Championship in Switzerland
The ISPU World Championship 2026 will be organized on site by the Swiss Giant Schnauzer Club. Switzerland has a long tradition as a host of this international event: previous championships were successfully held in Thun (1992), Schwanden (1998), Oeschgen (2004), Lausen (2011) and Langenthal (2016).
With the upcoming event in Aarau, the World Championship returns once again to Switzerland and promises to be a major sporting highlight in a central European location. Aarau is situated in the canton of Aargau, between Zurich, Basel and Bern, and is easily accessible both nationally and internationally.
Aarau is considered one of Switzerland’s most charming historic towns and is well known for its picturesque old town with its distinctive painted roof eaves. In addition to its cultural attractions, the region offers numerous opportunities for recreation along the river Aare. Thanks to its central location, excursions to surrounding cities and regions are also easily possible.
Athletics Stadium Schachen
The event will take place at the Schachen Athletics Stadium, a modern and versatile sports facility in Aarau. The stadium is known for its excellent infrastructure and regularly hosts national and international sporting events.
Schachen provides ideal conditions for dog sports, offering spacious grounds, professional facilities, and well-developed spectator areas. Located in a natural setting directly along the river Aare, the venue combines functionality with an attractive environment.
With its central location and modern infrastructure, the stadium offers perfect conditions for hosting a high-level international event such as the ISPU World Championship 2026

Our guidelines contain all information on how the IBGH3 – the Special Championship in year 2026 – is conducted. Mainly the Guideline points 1-3 from the Guidelines for ISPU World Championship FCI-IGP3 and FCI-IGP-FH apply for the Special Championship.
